Yasmina's vocal delivery is not only abundant with heartfelt emotion, but there's also a kind of no B.S. attitude behind them that really drew me in.
The track begins with her voice gently floating over the calmative strums of a guitar with a sax placed in the distance. It's the arrival of the bass that enlivens the track - it's SO in your face. And towards the end, the drums finally roll in for a smooth instrumental finish adorned with elegantly delivered harmonies.
I didn't want to make a typical "break up song." I wanted to make an empowering song, a song that has the power to make somebody feel like a boss after going through a tough time in their relationship.
