Woomb are a new phenomenon I keep hearing about. Led by producer/multi-instrumentalist Georgi Linev (Kan Wakan) and vocalist Hristo Yordanov, the London/Sofia-based duo also performs live as a 6-piece band. They blend indie, alternative rock, folk, psychedelia, and even trip-hop and ambient music. It is hard to describe their sound as I feel I'm quite early in the journey of discovering them, but it does bring both nostalgia and warmth. I guess if Daughter, Portishead, and Nightmares on Wax were making a soundtrack for scenery similar to the one where The Banshees of Inisherin is set?
The official video for "Pray for the Worst" came out last year and today is making it is streaming debut.
It also comes with a beautiful spacious ambient-meets-drone re-imagination by Born Erased (AKA Angel Simitchiev from Amek Collective).
