Yet another sick beat from PLYGRND's 2022 Beat Retreat compilation.
"Volpaia" is produced by Webmoms, Relyae, and the label's founder DAO and even though I hadn't been at that reality escape in Tuscany, I feel this joint perfectly encapsulates the careless feeling the artists experienced.
Thick drums are perfectly layered next to an encompassing bassline and then the whole thing is juxtaposed to a rather chirpy triangle sound. I love beats where you can re-listen time and time again and discover those little, but crucial details. I think I heard the track at least 5 times just to follow and space out to that woodblock, you know?
