French duo UTO was one of my favorite 2024 discoveries in the experimental realm, and I thought it would be highly appropriate to celebrate their sophomore album When All You Want To Do Is Be The Fire Part Of Fire by showcasing one of my favorite songs on that record. Emile and Neysa, who met in distant 2013, are "chic and alien, rhythm-centric yet diaphanous and ghostly," and their sound champions creative freedom. Listening to the record filled me with joy and the feeling of endless possibilities, so I like it when I get to go back and re-experience this.

"Napkin" is the sonic equivalent of spontaneous creative energy. The type of energy that makes you write your brilliant thoughts on... well, a napkin. This is the sound of creative freedom and the transcendental power of music. A captivating blend of 90s electronic music, breakbeats, and downtempo, wrapped in a layer of alluring synths and drums. The soundtrack to an unforgettable club night in your youth.

There's some cool news around the duo coming up, so stay tuned for more good music in the forthcoming weeks.
