One of the most featured artists on the website, our introduction to Tristan de Liege dates all the way back to 2018 and it has been a joyous journey ever since.
The LA-based downtempo / electronic producer excels when it comes to creating lush and mysterious experiences designed to ease the mind of any listener. I absolutely love the experimentation elements of his work and the fact that he's always willing to "travel" to places with his music and the wide range of influences he's incorporating in his sound. His latest single "Usawa" is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.
"Usawa" is created together with spiritual coach Felicia ONYI LOVE Richards, who blends her take and love for Afro-Cuban Orisha music and uses elements from meditation, prayer and reflection in her singing. Tristan elaborates, "Through this track, I endlessly sought to rediscover the joy and excitement of simple creation, especially with others, and this song represents that. Connecting my music to my love and enjoyment of life, and the restoration of balance is the theme and concept of this track, expressed through ONYI LOVE's traditional spirituality."
Don't quote me on this one, but I also think he's using a sample from a Bulgarian folklore choir on this one. Pure love.
