French musician Thibault Renard presents his debut album God is a Robot under his electronic solo alias Tom Wheeler. The LP sounds like a futuristic, sonic fairy tail with happy endings and delightful bursts of magic especially in the tracks "Shinhansen Haiku" and "Musée d'Orsay".
"Solar Shock" is a refreshing blend of the loud, sweet electro pop dynamics and a more elegant clean melody as a base for the playful synths. The name of the album could be a reference and a tribute to the ever giving French electronic scene from Jean-Michael Jarre to the robots themselves - Daft Punk. God used to be depicted as The Sun for giving people light and warmth, and now as a Solar shock - he is praised as the creator of electronic music.
