Deriving influences from Shigeto, Tycho, Jon Hopkins, and more.
People often list amazing artists as their influences. Unfortunately, those lists often don't live up to the expectations they build, but when that does happen - there's nothing but pure joy because you know you've found your next favourite artists.
That's what happened to me when I received the first email from Hector who is the the person behind Tocaio - an organic electronic artist who creates vast soundscapes through the blending of electronic and acoustic instruments. Today I am happy to share with you his track "Bonfire" who he kindly agree to allow us to upload on our SoundCloud profile.
As soon as those first delayed chords poured out of my speakers I was speechless. The perfect combination between keeping the song progression as minimal as possible and constantly adding tiny bits of sounds to it is such a hard thing to achieve, but Tocaio has done it.
...and just when you think the song has no other hidden surprises, those acoustic drums towards the end kick in. Flawless.
I hope "Bonfire" brings you the daily dose of calmness and if you enjoy this - feel free to grab a free download from the link above.
