Thursday keeps on keeping being nostalgic. But there's nothing wrong with that - when you have tunes that twist your insides and take you away, revisiting old memories.
Timmies' tune "Girl How Will I Love You" is a short but charged with emotivity lofi track. The vocals, performed by Mishaal bring a wonderful nuance and complete the vibe of the composition. The track relies on texture, minimalism and good melodicism, instead of complex instrumentation and a lot of lyrics. This makes you spiral in this interesting atmosphere, similar to the way you would be stuck on a persistent thought which simply doesn't evolve into a new statement but stays bugging you. In this sense this track is rather unorthodox and conceptual. But instead of being dark, it is light and pleasant in its simplicity, providing a break from having too much going on sound-wise and mentally.
Oh, and it's out via Riot Music - the new and exciting label endeavor of La Belle Musique. Timmies, who we've followed early on, had gone through ups and downs, unfortunately. He was faced with cheating and defamation from his previous label and the long process of moving his catalog in the face of the label's complete unwillingness to resolve the issue had an impact on his art. That being said, we're happy he has found new home with Riot Music.
That all certainly adds another nuance when you listen to it and imagine the setting it would fit in.
