There’s something nostalgic about the “Living Dream,” but in a cozy and reviving way. Like riding your bicycle into the sunset when you were little, feeling like you are in your own coming of age film.
The warm sound of the wooden percussion grabbed me from the beginning, combined with an acoustic and bass guitar. The drums develop to create an intricate, Balearic-like beat. Quite fitting for The Prussians, which contrary to their name, are from the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca.
Their new album, Mantra, is an eclectic mixture of indie rock and electronica, a-la Alt J meets The XX. From guitars to electronic trumpet to the murmured vocals of Dominic Massó, this track has multiple layers that deserve multiple listens.
