For the past few days I've been binge watching Rhythm + Flow on Netflix. It's a show where Chance The Rapper, Cardi B and T.I. scout local hip hop talents. I have to say - some dope rhymes out there and I'm really into the genre right now. Speaking of which, I think people like Memphis-based TaiTheGawd and Tay Rob definitely deserve the spotlight.
Their collab "Batcave Freestyle" is a blend of everything that's cool about hip hop. Smooth beats, rapid fire rhymes perfectly blended with a scent of old school vibes and a catchy underlying groove. It feels like bits and pieces from today's aggressiveness in the genre thrown in a pot together with them 90s classics.
