This comes right on time.
Autumn, with its moodiness, heavy skies and the sound of raindrops on the window sill, is when you close yourself in a bit and dive into melancholy. Which, I think, is nothing bad and actually necessary for every human being - to spare time for such emotions, too.
Summers Sons (Turt & Slim) and C.Tappin know best how to create the right vibe for you and, hence - "The Sequel". Piano-driven, poetry-infused and the proper blend of hip hop, soul and beats. And the switch towards the end with the line "Find the kind of beauty in the melancholy" is what this is all about.
This track (as well as "Bittersweet") is part of Summers Sons' second full-length album The Rain that just got released via our friends from Melting Pot Music. Turt explains:
The Rain is a story of loss, love and new beginnings. It's our most personal and experimental work to date. Written after the sudden passing of our step dad, a vulnerable and honest album exploring the lows and the journey to try and pick up the pieces.
It's absolutely gorgeous, so make sure you fully experience it below.
