The sugary sweet vocal melodies embedded in the chorus of "Josephene" is the kind that stick in your mind for hours.
Granted the track takes a while to kick off, it's actually that slow start what made me fall in love with the song. As it progresses, besides the spaced out piano we're introduced to strings which gracefully open up the track like the wings of a butterfly. Featuring a stunningly poignant vocal from Scottish artist Neev, "Josephene" is arguably Stray Light's most affecting work to date - heartbreaking, evocative downtempo electronica of the very highest order.
Imagine Galimatias' Urban Flora, but a house-ish version. An absolute honour to host the premiere of this beautiful piece.
