According to the modern day Kiwi methodology the Sun made love to the Moon which 5 full cycles later, gave birth to Lorde. A national New Zealander treasure, last I heard, a bronze statue, an exact replica of Lorde, will be erected in the main square of her home town.
Jokes aside, Lorde is insanely talented and she deserves all the admiration she is getting. I honestly would not have guessed this is Lorde's voice if I had not read the info. Son Lux and Lorde have teamed up for a very special track.
Her voice is deep, scratchy, miles away from "Royals", if that's the first song that pops up in your mind. The "full-moon, chant around the fire" beats are suitable for a pagan ritual. Towards the end of the track, it get's really scratchy. I really like the highly experimental level of the song. I hope this is not the first and last time Son Lux and Lorde work together.
