Meet Sophia Ramos - a nineteen-year-old college student with a passion for singing/songwriting and soulful music. Berlin's back to being full-on gray, so finding this soothing piece of music couldn't have come in a better moment.
Sofila's "Little Slice of Heaven" reminds me of the early works of Jhené Aiko and is the kind of track that would pierce your heart from the get-go. And speaking of hearts, when it comes to track's backstory, the up-and-coming California-based artist shares...
Even though, yes, I am a Cancer, a sign which has been stereotyped as somewhat of a, 'touchy' and, 'feely', person, I can confidently say that I am anything but the sorts. However, with the approaching one-year anniversary of my boyfriend, Gabriel, I felt as if I was obligated to create this song for him. Not being one typically comfortable with expressing emotions so fluidly, especially in an art form as raw as my voice, I had to step out of my comfort zone. I knew that the end result would be worth it; letting my boyfriend know how much I appreciate, respect, and care for him would be much better than any material item I could purchase.
Absolutely in love with her sound, the story, and the overall vibe crafted by Sophia. Hands down, one of the most intimate and lush tracks I've discovered lately.
