Honest and determined, “Bad History” by London-based songwriter and producer Sipprell is nothing shy of a neo-soul, R&B delight. There’s something very empowering about the lyrics of the song. The progressive confidence of Sipprell’s vocals tells a story about self-honesty about her romantic desires and boundaries, which then transfigures into a sincere declaration to another.
Despite the ever-so-nostalgic instrumentals, the song is not the slightest bit saddening. The build-up perfectly translates into a nonchalance of balanced peace and desire, dictated by Sipprell, who, I dare say, sounds kween-like.
