Scott Xylo (aka Shaquille Thompson) and Adam Martin created SHADEEMUS as a unique concept that aims to craft a solar system of sound with a captivating narrative. The two first crossed paths while working at a coffee shop in Leicester, where they bonded over their shared admiration for Pink Floyd and Gorillaz. Influences you can pick quickly pick in their sound.
Their collaboration resulted in the birth of SHADEEMUS, a fusion of psych rock, funk, and soul that features Xylo's groovy ability when it comes to sampling and playing bass, and Adam on guitar. In February 2020, SHADEEMUS welcomed their third member, Demigosh (aka Ade Balogun), a pan-Irish Nigerian vocalist and performance artist, who added a new dimension to the band's sound with his impressive vocal prowess. Their music has earned critical acclaim and support from notable industry giants like BBC Introducing, BBC 1xtra, and Worldwide FM.
Today we celebrate their latest single "House Of Craft", which is nothing short of mind-blowing. The song is a nostalgic musical blend of rock, jazz, trip-hop, and soul, weaving a melancholic groove on a vintage 90s soundscape.
If you, like me, are a fan of artists like Portishead, Tricky, and King Krule, you will fall head over heels for this track.
