Seye Adelekan's latest release, "Remember What We Forget," seamlessly weaves incredible storytelling into an instrumental section that feels like a sonic voyage.
Raised in London, Holland, and Ecuador, Seye is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer best known for being the bass player in the animated, multi-media band Gorillaz. He takes a step into forging his own path as an artist and offers listeners a new EP titled The River, which features the stunning "Remember What We Forget".
Instrumentally this is an amalgamation of genres since Seye has invited the influence of afrobeat, neo-soul, and even electronic elements thanks to the bright synths ushered into the chorus. I can't neglect to mention the elegantly soulful vocal performance - his voice is uplifting and is one of the main reasons I have quite a connection with this track.
