The name SAULT has crossed my path countless times, yet "Someone to Love You" from their Christmas release Acts of Faith marks my first real experience with the enigmatic collective.

SAULT is a renowned r&b-leaning collective headed by songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Inflo. They don't give interviews, rarely host shows, and don't "market" their music in the traditional way artists do today. Their album Acts of Faith arrived unannounced on Christmas day and one of the stand-out gems is certainly "Somone to Love You" - a groovy track led by a bouncy bass section and complemented by slick guitars. The fusion of funk, soul, and Latin American percussive textures creates a truly distinctive listening experience. I particularly enjoyed how the minimal use of vocals allows the focus to remain on the immersive vibe.
