This was really catchy from the first time I heard it, plus pretty impressive lyrically.
sasha!, who would prefer to be refered to as 'them', kicks in with hell of a flow, straight from Virginia, USA. They teamed up with Mike Abstrakt, who created the dope beatwork, based on sasha! playing ukulele.
sasha! shares the meaning behind the track:
On the surface the song is about a lack of faith (in astrology). I'm nonbinary (they/them pronouns) and beyond the surface level of the chorus, it's an angry hook about a deep frustration about shallow / appearance-based assumptions. The verses are all about trauma-coping but I think the delivery and fun "chorus" bring a lighter tone to it.
This is definitely one of the diverse songs we've got and brings important topics. And to top that, it's damn nice to listen to.
