It's so refreshing to hear jazz rap in a new light.
London artist Sam Cotton (who's making waves on TikTok at the moment) shares his new single "Come Again?", featuring UK rapper Baby Panna on the first verse. As opposed to the usual boom-bap beat, the instrumental is closer to jazz house and Sam's vocals float between smooth rapping & warm singing - a blend he compared to berlioz, Loyle Carner & Tom Misch.
The song explores "the electrifying rush of a fleeting spark" and it will make your head spin into sweet daydreaming, thanks to its warm neo-soul guitars, hazy sax, and mesmerizing percussion groove.
