Netherlands-based, Darker Than Wax producer KA-YU is no stranger to Stereofox, but years ago, he was still relatively unknown.
It’s been over 3 years since he collaborated with fellow Dutch singer/songwriter Salóme Pieris to cover Beyonce's early hit "Me, Myself & I". While I would normally avoid resurrecting an old track, much less a cover, there is an undeniable agelessness to KA-YU's velvety smooth production on this joint.
I can only guess that this track didn't garner more attention because it got lost amongst the countless other fresh productions that KA-YU would go on to release following this collaboration, but I urge you to come back with me to his early days and take a listen to this still-fresh and flat-out sexy number.
I guarantee you can expect to be wowed by Salóme Pieris’ silky vocals layered atop an intoxicatingly lush beat. I would go so far as to say that this is one of my favorite covers of all time, if not one of my favorite tracks.
