I've been following the work of Aussie-based producer Sad face. for a while now, and I must say "equinox" feels like a step towards a new frontier as his sound has developed immensely.
Even though "equinox" is tagged as deep house, it carries with it a lively downtempo feel that's reminiscent of acts such as Koresma and Nuages. On first listen one might assume that bright guitars steal the show as they're in the lime light of the mix, however, I found myself VERY drawn to the lush pianos and the subtle ethnic instrumentation which slips in towards the closing moments.
The day I finished it was the was day of equinox so it felt like a fitting title as I transition into a new cycle. This is the first of 5 deep house tracks I've been working on with the plan to release one a month before grouping them together into an inbetween albums EP next year.
