S. Carey (or Steven Carey to his mates) is probably best known for his involvement with Bon Iver, namely as drummer in the impressive live ensemble. But what might be unbeknownst to most is that he has a solo career. And he's pretty dam good.
Carey's music will be easily identifiable to fans of Bon Iver, as it shares much of the ambient folk similes and nuances that we're all so in love with. Carey already has one album under his belt, 2010's All We Grow. The release of "Fire Scene" is going to be the start of Carey's second album Range Of Light due out in March this year after signing with label Jagjaguwar (who also have Bon Iver on their books). With his subdued yet brilliant voice coupling with the delicate and transcendental instrumentation, this album is set to be one that raises S. Carey into the limelight. Definitely one to keep an eye on in 2014.
