Epic Roots Manuva wrote the soundtrack for the very first episode of "Skins", so it feels natural that he comes back with the soundtrack for the very last episode of this UK series. I have always appreciated their soundtrack, so it is a crying shame that the show is over.
There were rumors that some new stuff was on its way from the UK hip-hop artist after his January EP Banana Skank, but this track came as a complete surprise. Nice little treat for the fans.
"Stolen Youth" has got a very heavy catchy bass line and heavy electronic elements. This unusual combination is apparently becoming quite big in hip-hop (or at least so I've read) and has been called glitch-hop. Last.fm puts artists like Baths (probably with his earlier stuff), Shlohmo and Giraffage into this category.
Anyway, "Stolen Youth" is damn impressive and I will go and check out this Banana Skank EP and cry about the end of the show.
