Have you ever heard "Paracosm" by Washed Out? The use of pads on that album literally sucks you in because of their distinct atmosphere. That is the exact same feeling one would get the first time they experience "Los Angeles".
The production is stellar here with that LA future beat sound shining through like a morning sunrise. I also loved the fact that acoustic instrumentation was incorporated such as the harps, plus there were instances of live drums particularly for the fills. Even though the beat is one that is remarkably busy, the airy vocals still have their place in the track. In the chorus, they have quite a wistful feel about them which induces weightlessness. Definitely one of the best tracks we've received this month.
