The Bulgarian Post Office managed to annoy me this morning, but everything got instantly better when Nasko sent me Kaytranada's remix of Robert Glasper's "Better Than I Imagined" which also features the staggering vocals H.E.R. and talented Meshell Ndegeocello who I've been a fan of for a while.
I mean those names alone reak of talent and it is a pretty damn good reason to love life and music today. I honestly don't know where to start with my praise. Those 4 are creativity in human shape.
The original track is back from August this year and its part of Glasper's Black Radio 3 (scheduled for sometime in 2021), but you gotta love Kaytra's fluid revision. Glasper shares,
"Better Than I Imagined" is an ardent dedication to the value and virtue of Black love. No one wants a life without love, but we have generations of people in our community who haven’t had the tools to actually be in healthy relationships. It seems like people are finally ready to open their eyes to systemic racism in this country, and if we’re going to talk about it, we have to also talk about how it affects our relationships.
