When we received this track, initially my colleague had expressed interest in featuring it. Although after I heard it, I gravitated towards the beauty of "When I Land" and inspiration led me to feature the track.
The kind of drums on here, the glitchy and 8-bit type I usually detest and my ears reject them as soon as they enter. The difference is that the fx aren't too harsh here and the drums have quite a fascinating movement about them. One of my favorite parts of the track is when the majority of the instruments fall silent and y.azz's lofty vocals hover over these bells embellished with a pad in the background. "When I Land" pretty much gives us a glimpse as to what r&b in the future would sound like.
