A few days from now, we'll be sonically bathing in the soothing waters of Ray Lozano forthcoming sophomore album SILK&SORROW (March 28th via Melting Pot Music), and I couldn't be more excited to share a taste of what's coming.
"CAN'T LOVE" follows a strong string of singles, and it marks the 5th (and last) official single ahead of the record. The song is a showcase for Ray's outerworldy vocal abilities and embodies her future-facing soul vision, blending R&B tropes with confessional lyricism and deep emotion as she explores commitment and her fear of it with tender confidence. I love the underwater-y slow-motion production underneath her vocals as it has an early Ta-Ku vibe, which is always a win in my book.
She elaborates, “For anyone struggling with commitment, ‘CAN’T LOVE’ delivers a powerful emotional punch. The song dives into the complexities of relationships, capturing the vulnerability and fear that comes with trying to connect on a deeper level. It’s a raw, relatable anthem for those facing the uncertainty of love.”
