OK, this feature came with a lot of laughter and a lot of dancing. When I first saw the name rambo I just couldn't think of some of the ridiculous scenes which in the early 90's seemed so cool. Then I read this...
"sounds like if james brown and tame impala had a baby who made house music and lived on an island"
Honestly, John (the guy behind rambo) has an amazing sense of humour. Also, his music is the perfect indie dance example. Jackie Rain's deep vocals are perfect addition to his breezy synth vibes making "Darkest Blue" a damn good reason for me to make awkward dance moves on a Saturday morning. The track is the lead track on Rambo's first EP which was released on November 1st.
Apparently this is called surf house because of the airy guitars, live percussion, and lo fi vocals over a driving house beat. I dig that.
