OK, so hear me out.

What Psalm Trees and ALEXANDER did this week is simply genius. The two talented producers released their jazz album Spirit of Naima and on top of that sampled the live instrumentation of it for the birth of another jazz beats album called From Scratch.

Turning live instrumentation into a playground for sample flipping, the duo has crafted a seamless blend of jazz and jazzhop. I had the pleasure of listening to the two releases and each gives the listener a unique and special experience. For my Friday spotlight, I chose a From Scratch beat. What I loved about it was the immersive experience they managed to bottle in. The perfect soundtrack to any weekend laid-back activity and a way to ease your brain.

If you follow Stereofox for a while, you know I've been a fan of Ben (Psalm Trees) for a very, very long time. He always managed to surprise me with his creativity and I'm utterly impressed by what they cooked with Dutch instrumentalist ALEXANDER.

All that beauty via our friends at Chillhop Music.
