Yesterday, we had a wonderful trip back in time, thanks to ProleteR's "Fool for a Lifetime" (with Takada Fu) and their blend of vintage jazz samples with instrumental hip-hop.
The song is actually taken off the French producer's latest album Temperamental Cats - and it's full of gems. One of the two vocal tunes of the record is called "First Love" and features US rapper Napoleon Da Legend (frequently touring with Wax Tailor).
The song is about the pure love for hip-hop and is understandably the epitome of what jazz rap is - boom-bap beats, warm keys, smooth samples & effortless flow. A wonderful tribute to the genre, that's for sure.
