I think I've reached the point where I could sense a Philanthrope beat in the noisiest room ever. Simon has his own, specific watermark sound when it comes to approaching track structure and his music is usually "marked" with this specific kind of chill vibe. A bizarrely cool blend of zen and mellow.
Today, we're honoured and excited to share with you the premiere of a track from his new full-length album Waking Dreams. The record consists of 14 tracks featuring other favourite beat-makers like Mono:Massive, Sugi.wa, Kupla and tusken. My choice, however, is a beat called "Carwash" - 3 minutes of fluid jazzy beats and gorgeous piano melodies.
Waking Dreams is released via hhv.de's newly created sub-label Beat Jazz International. The vinyl edition is limited to 500 copies and comes in a sealed and stickered, heavy old-fashioned cardboard sleeve and of course a free download code plus a BJINT logo sticker round up the lovely packaging. If you dig this, you can order it here.
