"Purple Yellow Red and Blue," the latest single from Portland-based indie rockers, Portugal. The Man, immediately jumped to the top of my favorites list. Featuring Haim sisters, Este and Danielle, the funky, upbeat track is full of those catchy pop hooks I just can't get enough of.
With the release of the trippy, slightly Evil video, the title does make a little more sense now. But only a little. Complete with piercing blank stares, black light face paint, and an assortment of other randomness mixed in (A goat?!), the video alludes to the effects of taking pills of the aforementioned colors. Not to mention the slightly creepy Napoleon Dynamite complex from Portugal. The Man vocalist, John Gourley. Check it out for yourself below and see what you think!
There's a buzz of high anticipation surrounding the upcoming album, Evil Friends, and the collaboration with superproducer, Danger Mouse. Release is set for June 4th, so mark your calendars!
