As you all probably know, iconic Burning Man just finished last week, and I was not able to attend that one I was drooling all over the mixes, which already started popping up online. One of my favourite ones is Tycho's sunrise set, which you can check out right here. I have obviously started taking the mix apart track by track and the one that really stood out was pluko's "l o v e".
pluko has just released his debut album sixteen on Odesza's Foreign Family Collective (I always knew these guys would be good at finding hidden gems out there). "l o v e" is very unique in its sound, I would never be able to put a genre label to it. It's very forward thinking (especially for an 18 year old) and skillfully made track: there is trap elements, a bit of housey vibe, floating beats and god knows what else that makes this track so atmospheric and captivating.
“Each one of these tracks was inspired by a specific feeling or moment in my life. This album is a collection of both the greatest and hardest times of my life. ‘Sixteen’ is for everybody. Inspired by what it feels like to love and what it feels like to be loved. This was the final addition to the album actually, i think it filled exactly what it was missing.”
