So what can I tell you about PLESTED? Well I first came across Phil (PLESTED) a couple of years ago @ Barn On The Farm Festival whilst crooning as part of Indie Fan-Favourites Chasing Grace.
Since then he seems to have decided to take some solo time out, the results of which have seen him pen a multitude of notable writing credits - Chainsmokers, Little Mix et al. More remarkably, he is managing all of this whilst beavering away on his very own selection of eagerly awaited tracks.
It must be nearly a year ago when I first heard PLESTED solo material - this being the phenomenal demo "I O U". It's been a fairly long wait to catch sight of his first "proper" debut release and having expected a formal, polished version of IOU, I for one am so glad he avoided this - having spent so long with the rawness of the demo, I think I would have found it hard to get to love a crafted version anywhere near as much.
"Habits" on the other hand, shows everything I loved about IOU, with the same bold fragility of his just glorious vocals, albeit now all wrapped around a haunting soundtrack - & one that is most definitely unrecognisable to anything Chasing Grace-like.
