On their latest release, Pink Butter and T3 of Slum Village revive the essence of 90s hip hop, layering it with modern production flair for a timeless yet forward-thinking sound.
Pink Butter is a Swedish collective made up of four musicians merging the freedom of jazz with the contemporary sounds of hip-hop and soul. For "Can We Go Back", they draw inspiration from the legendary J Dilla to craft the beat and have invited T3 of Slum Village to bring the track to life. Throughout his stellar verses, T3 reflects on the feeling of being stuck at a dark station, uncertain whether better days lie ahead or behind. This is complemented by booming drums and woozy, melodic synths floating in the backdrop.
