Moving effortlessly through life sounds like the ultimate goal.

The renowned Japanese keyboardist, composer, and producer Hiroaki Watanabe, more known as re:plus, launched a new moniker earlier this year, called physis.

With it, he wanted to get out of the strict jazz aesthetic he had as re:plus and have more freedom to blend it with chillop and lofi. The sophomore EP of physis, flow with the tide, is dedicated to that.

"There is a Japanese phrase, “Gyounryusui” which means “like a cloud, like flowing water”. This EP is inspired by this saying – and because of the more freedom and varied work I can do under my new artistic project," he elaborates.

The opening song "Floating Liquid" is still very rich in jazz elements and chord progressions but also with an underlying hip-hop production, making this a fine jazzhop experience, with Hiroaki's signature moodiness and warmth.

Released via our own Stereofox Records, you can stream/buy the EP here.
