South London artist Oscar Jerome returns to the site with the sprawling 7-minute long ‘Subdued’.
This new one sees him carving out his different musical lane by aligning his own electronica and hip-hop style with the influence of the likes of Gil Scott Heron and Jay Dilla. The track also proves his supreme talent as a guitarist, vocalist and lyricist.
Speaking about the track, Oscar says: “I wanted to try and comment on the arrogance of our Western culture and certain people’s inability to view their existence as something much bigger than their own ego. I’m not going to point any fingers, take from it what you will.”
The track features the likes of Joe Armon-Jones, Poppy Ajudha and Wu-Lu, all emerging artist from the ever-growing talent hub that is the South London jazz scene.
Like everything he's released so far - this is special!
