Oli Morris' jazzy production made me instantly fall in love with everything he's been getting out ever since his debut release "Bimal". And to hear his music with hip hop is a dream come true.
"Diversion" is his latest offering, featuring Tomppa Coates, a UK-born, Portugal-based rapper, and pianist Ruaridh Wilkinson. Aside from the captivating flow, the instrumental is mind-blowing & abundant but simultaneously really cohesive - fusing flute, saxophone, bass, guitar, synths, and sampling. A truly feel-good piece.
Oli explains, "Diversion" is all about taking risks and adjusting to big life changes, in the most optimistic and upbeat way possible."
His only 4th single, "Diversion" sets the bar real high for all those jazzy hip-hop people out there. An EP coming this fall, so keep an eye out.
