Well 12 months and 12 posts in - what can I really say about Oh Wonder that hasn't already been said?
By now the South London duo are pretty much as habitual as paying your mortgage, releasing a track on the 1st of each month in anticipation of the release of their self-titled album some 12 deliberate months later.
Well the wait is finally over and on the eve of the album release, I actually feel quite honoured to be reviewing the final instalment of a record that has definitely been more than a year in the making.
Since September 2014, the guys have delivered 12 tracks that have all stood out in their own unique (albeit familiar) way. "Heart Hope" is no different (well it is and it isn't) - its probably their most melancholic track to date but its anything other than downbeat or down-trodden. Personally I think its actually quite the opposite, a track full of ambition and determination to finish a story that has been exactly that.
It's been an amazing journey for people that are pioneers of their craft and I can't wait to tag along on their next one. For now enjoy the result of the last year or so and grab a copy of their debut album, released this Friday.
