I think was a love from a first bass kick. Ever since nyquill's wave of depth kicks at 00:50 I know this would be a feature.
It has been 5 long years since I last featured nyquill on this website, but it's great to revive his sound back onto the platform. There's something beautifully dark and lonesome about "I Didn't Need You". It's the kind of track one would listen to while standing on the edge of a cliff, watching massive waves crashing in the rocks beneath. It is, again, beautiful, yet dark and for obvious reasons, you won't be going any further, despite the attraction of the scenery... if this makes sense.
To build on these random sets of words, the track carries a feeling of utter hopelessness and while it is... heavy, I can't stop listening to it and just dwelling in the world crafted by nyquill. I guess it might be the energy of the bass, but besides that hopelessness, there is something extremely empowering in the track.
"Make a place to sit down. Sit down. Be quiet…"
If there's a track that is an embodiment of our Bass Wave playlist, then that's "I Didn't Need You".
