Long-awaited, NxWorries sophomore album Why Lawd? hit the shelves a couple of hours ago, and needless to say - we had to jump on that.
Just like in 2016, we get to experience 19 tracks infused with neo-soul, hip hop and r&b, all perfectly lined on top of Knxwledge endless amount of creativity when it comes to beatmaking. Both were extremely busy in the 8 years since their classic Yes Lawd! Both have picked and built some great friendships overtime and this time we're seeing tons of features as opposed to their debut as both are joined by people like Dave Chappelle, Thundercat, H.E.R., Charlie Wilson, Rae Khalil, Snoop Dogg, and Earl Sweatshirt.
Before I do a more in-depth review later on, I decided to share with you one of the "new" tracks that instantly stood out the first time I listened to the whole record. "KeepHer" featuring the God of bass Thundercat is as sensual as things could be and carries that feeling of maturity and calmness that one could easily pick while listening to Why Lawd?, especially comparing it to .Paak and Knxwledge's 2016 work on Yes Lawd!
I pack my bags, but if you don't mind, don't mind
Let's make love for the last time, then goodbye
That part hits very hard.
That gem and tons more new finds this week on our Stereofox New Music Finds playlist.
Listen to the full record below. I really enjoyed the Earl Sweatshirt & Rae Khalil's feature that came out some time ago, so seeing Rae popping on another track on the record brought a smile on my face.
