A few weeks ago I started a video series called golden era SoundCloud songs we shouldn't forget on social media, and I naturally thought of N U A G E S. I spent an hour going through old releases wondering what he might be doing now, and went on with my day. I believe in faith and 2 days ago I got one of those amazing random emails I get from him every once in a while.

The email started with "Hey man, long time!", and then - a new song. I felt a rush of instant happiness. I had the honour of interviewing N U A G E S back in 2017 and have obsessively covered all his music since the dawn of Stereofox, so this feels like going back to your room growing up. Warm, safe, exciting.

The new track, "above", has a very post-rock scent, but it also employs inspirations and textures from ambient and downtempo experimental music, making it the perfect way to heal from whatever is bothering you right now.

I hope that the music N U A G E S will remain a constant in my life, regardless of the gaps in time between our emails.
