Featuring the talented Eo, "Just Holdin" is a harmonious cocktail of jazz, boom bap, and soulful vocals. A pure testament to the power of collaborations and the beauty that comes from two people's creativity pulled together.
I love the instant groove and the bassline that perfectly blend with the 70s movie soundtrack energy coming off the strings used in the beat. All that is a perfect stage for Ethan's smooth flow.
Several years in the making, "Just Holdin On" first came to fruition after a studio session with Michal Martyniuk where the two artists were experimenting together, and as Nathan recalls “Michal was mucking around in my studio and came up with it. I was like, ‘holy shit, that’s dope!’ He’s always coming up with beautiful chord changes. These chords were stored away for years, waiting for the right moment to be transformed into something extraordinary”.
