As promised, Nai Palm has unveiled her debut solo album called Needle Paw, and as expected, it’s a beautiful project.
Featuring a handful of new compositions alongside acoustic versions of Hiatus Kaiyote songs, and covers of classic tracks from the likes of David Bowie and Radiohead.
The album sees her stripping back to just vocals and guitar with stunning results. Her 9-minute medley that marries "Blackstar/Pyramid Song/Breathing Underwater" is one the records of many enthralling moments.
“I guess I just wanted to take it back to basics. I don’t have shit to prove,” the singer explained and wanted to “celebrate the most emotional and human [thing] on the planet.”
