There's something amazing about r&b/neo-soul with a drum groove and I've just got you another proof why.
London-based, German-born singer Naesia (whose "Take Me High" we featured last month) is back with her debut EP Indecisive, written, performed & produced by herself.
The closing tune, "Mr. Mysterious," is a reminiscence about past dating experiences. About the thrill and frustration of being captivated by someone elusive—unpredictable, hot and cold, and impossible to decipher. Naesia elaborates:
"You know deep down they may not be right for you, yet the mystery keeps you intrigued and I attempted to craft a sound that mirrors this complex emotional landscape. This track embodies the internal conflict of fascination and caution, and I felt it was the perfect lead single for the Indecisive EP, as it encapsulates the theme of uncertainty and emotional tug-of-war that runs throughout the project."
The song features marvelous syncopated drums, funky basslines, spacey pads - and Naesia's smooth, soulful vocals that briefly turn hip-hop mid-track. Hope that's enough to convince you to follow her craft from now on.
