While I am no Nostradamus, I can safely tell you that Kendrick'a DAMN will be long talked about. It's still on my offline Spotify options and time and time again I find the dude really inspiring. While I wouldn't say I'm extremely knowledgeable about hip hop, I think most people would agree that he's one of the most (or the most) influential people in the genre nowadays.

What I do pay closer attention is his approach to production and music as a whole and for a while I've wanted to start Best Of series where we mix some of our favourite remixes of artists who have already proven themselves. I was re-reading his 2017 interview with Rick Rubin and this quote pushed me towards finally making one of those mixes:

I used to consider the listener. But now I'm in a space where if I'm not inspired, I can't really do the music. I can't feel it. I put in enough hours to be able to pen a hundred-bar verse on the spot at any given moment. But for me to actually feel an idea, it has to come from me. And a lot of times, I have to block out different needs and wants just for my own selfish reasons. But at the end of the day, it comes out where, whether you like it or not, you know it comes from a real place. It's gonna feel unapologetic, uncompromising, and it's gonna feel me.

Here's a mix of some of my favourite edits/flips of his tracks. Hope you guys enjoy this!
