Do you ever hear a band once, forget about them, and then get reminded of how extremely awesome they are when you listen to them again? That happened with me and New York-based alt-pop band MisterWives a couple months ago. I first heard their rather saddening "Coffins", and somehow managed to let them slip under my radar. I then heard the insanely infectious "Vagabond", and haven't stopped listening since!
The group's sound is really characterized by lead woman Mandy Lee, whose vocal prowess is clearly evident in not only this song, but through each and every track. In "Vagabond", however, we really get a feel for her singing prowess, with the song's ups and downs throughout. Those penetrating vocals will start to create a slice in your mind, allowing for the ridiculously catchy beat to become permanently fixated in your head.
The group just recently released their debut Reflections EP. If you like what you hear, you're in luck! The band is currently on tour, opening for pop-rockers The Mowgli's, and are a really energetic bunch to see live! Check here to see if they'll be coming to a city near you.
