For the past couple of years Canadian-born, Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, and musician Miranda Joan is building up a catalog of nothing, but mind-blowing tracks with the neo-soul/alt r&b scene, and her latest endeavor "Kiss A Stranger" is no exception.
Produced by the legendary CARRTOONS, the song is a staggering showcase of Miranda's larger-than-life vocal abilities. Artfully intertwined vocal layers replace a busy production, creating ample room for Miranda Joan's voice to ascend and gracefully traverse above the strings.
Creatively driven by her personal experience after a breakup, the track is Miranda's exploration back into the complicated world of meeting new people. Written during the lockdown, she adds, "The message of Kiss A Stranger is wrapped up in heartache and in hope. I wanted to break free of all that held me back; my previous relationship, my lived reality, my mind; I wanted out, I wanted to kiss a stranger.”
During her artistic journey, Miranda gained support from industry giants like Tom Ravenscroft (BBC 6Music), Tony Minvielle (Jazz FM), and Boba Fatt (Soho Radio) and was featured on Spotify's signature Fresh Finds aiming to support the best upcoming talents from around the globe.
"Kiss A Stranger" will be included in Miranda's forthcoming LP Overstimulated scheduled for November 10th this year and will feature her single "Too Much" which we covered a few months ago.
Stay tuned for more of the upcoming journey!
