This one is for those who still miss Amy, and for those who can't resist Greentea Peng's tracks - I'm so stoked to share with you the latest release by Mr Harry and Millie Mountain.
Millie, whose deep voice quickly takes control over the listener, is a new discovery for me and I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of her voice and the different nuances of it, which get revealed throughout the track. Instrumentally, "How We Like" relies on warm chords and subtle percussion, which make space not only for Millie's fantastic vocals but also for some charming brass embellishments.
The song reflects on being told what’s ‘normal’ and having to live up to other people’s expectations: "It’s about being confined to a set way of living and a false sense of freedom when in reality we have no control. You can’t buy happiness, we have to try and let go and be in the moment but it’s harder than ever with the constant brainwashing cycle of false information draining our conscience. It’s about understanding that we are all in the same boat. It’s about how we mustn’t project our past traumas onto our offspring or else the ongoing cycle will never end and we will never feel free." - Millie elaborates.
